Scratched my motherboard
WebMay 10, 2011 · Sure it's rough that it got scratched in the process but at the same time it didn't seem to distort any tracings in the board which is great. Had you distorted any of those tracings your board would have been toast as soon as you put power to it. WebHere's my build. WebI highly doubt a motherboard scratch would damage the cpu. Damage may be caused if you turned the pc on with the damaged motherboard in it and the scratches caused a short which could fry multiple components, not just the cpu. Thanks for posting the higher-res photos for us. It looks like he only scratched the thin epoxy layer - the board looks like it's fine and I don't think he severed any tracings. Like I said it doesn't look like he severed anythign and it should be fine. cgo team
