WebAcceleration is fine if I step on the throttle. The problem only seems to affect low speed part throttle acceleration and steady highway travel. In both cases the engine surges. WebJun 5, 2008 · It was the EGR. If you remove the EGR (or the block-off plate if it has been removed) one port should be sooty, the other clean. If both are sooty, too much exhaust gas is passing into the intake. I built a blockoff plate for mine and bought a 99 cent EGR gasket to go between the plate and intake.
WebJun 1, 2008 · I am having a idle issue. Once the motor is warm (350 tbi) the idle wants to surge. I would say that is varies a few 100 rpm. It is idling and then it almost dies, and then goes back to idle. First, the fuel pumps are extremely picky and prone to fail if run out of fuel. Sometimes it is no big thing, sometimes pressure/volume problems arise.
