Webb1 juni 2024 · Thymolipoma is a rare benign thymic mass which is less than 5% of all thymic masses. The mean age of presentation is 22 years with no sex or race predilection. Most patients are asymptomatic with incidental detection. Giant thymolipoma have been rarely reported in infants and children [ 2, 3 ]. Webb1 juni 2009 · The term “thymolipoma” was introduced by Hall in 1949 [1] and has since been used to describe benign tumors composed of varying amounts of mature adipose and thymic tissue. They are typically located in the anterior mediastinum and have been reported to occur in patients aged 2 to 67 years without sex predilection [2], [3].
